Americans' Wait Time To See Doctors Is Longer Than in Many Other Countries
 
Many Americans wait six days or more to see a doctor when they are sick and need care, ranking the United States toward to the bottom in a Commonwealth Fund study of wait times for treatment in 11 countries. 
 
In contrast, the U.S. fares much better when it comes to wait times for appointments that are more financially lucrative for hospitals and doctors, such as knee-replacements, M.R.I.s or Botox injections.
 
Experts say that wait times for immediate health needs are likely to increase, the result of the tens of millions of people expected to be newly covered under the Affordable Care Act....
