Alfred P. Sloan Study Finds Possible Solutions to Sleep Disorders and Depression
Alfred P. Sloan study identified a group of neurons that may have implications for treating sleep and neuropsychiatric disorders.
Researchers wanted to know: How do we overcome tiredness in the face of a looming deadline or rouse ourselves in the dead of night to feed a crying baby? In other words, in the face of so-called salient stimuli, how do we override the natural drive to sleep?
