Each foundation takes its own approach to thinking about and supporting grantee capacity. GrantCraft, a service of Foundation Center, launched a guide called Supporting Grantee Capacity: Strengthening Effectiveness Together that shares examples and explores techniques that funders can use to make informed, thoughtful decisions about capacity building. The guide covers topics including: investment approaches, lenses to focus and inform grantmaking, knowing the foundation's capacity for capacity building, power dynamics, and assessing impact.

Explore
  • Important framing thoughts from the guide
  • Funder voices and examples
  • Action steps you can take to start or improve your capacity building work
  • Being in the driver's seat to think through important questions
