Supporting strategic volunteerism is a critical component to strengthening grantees in this current economic climate. A well-designed volunteer program can increase nonprofit productivity and effectiveness but it must be a funder supported capacity to achieve maximum results.
At the January meeting “Reimagining Service and Cities of Service: A Funder’s Guide to Driving Change through Volunteerism” attendees left with specific ways that funders could help nonprofits meet their goals through volunteerism. This follow-up session will provide an opportunity for discussion so that participants can share successes and challenges, brainstorm on solutions, and explore new opportunities. We’ll also spend time learning more about Reimagining Service (www.reimaginingservice.org) how to apply the Reimagining Service principles to our work.
