Storytelling has been the buzz of social change circles for years. This forward-looking session will explore where the practice of stories-for-change stands, and where it’s heading — for funders in any issue area — by using the new Working Narratives publication, “Storytelling and Social Change: A Strategy Guide for Grantmakers.”

Starting off with an overview of storytelling and social change, and then moving into frameworks for grantmakers, our panelists will lead a dynamic discussion that examines levels of engagement from local community organizing to “changing the narrative” on big issues. Be prepared to actively engage in breakout groups and dive into your big questions concerning capacity building, evaluation and how to do more than preach to the choir. You will leave this program inspired and equipped with next steps to get started or advance in this work.

We invite you to submit your toughest questions and challenges, which we’ll then “workshop” after the session with experts in the field. When registering, our system will prompt you to submit your questions.
