"Raising the Bar: Why Public Charter Schools Must Become Even More Innovative," a joint effort between The Mind Trust and Public Impact, a national education policy and management consulting organization based in North Carolina that explores the challenges faced by charter schools, issues a national call to action for more innovation in U.S. charter schools and recommends steps various stakeholders in the charter sector could take to make the sector better, broader and bigger.

Through this report, we hope to spark more conversation and action to improve and expand the U.S. charter school sector in order to serve more students. We also will use this report as a prelude and a guide to the Charter School Design Challenge, our national search for four transformative, break-the-mold charter school models that will receive $250,000 each to launch in Indianapolis.
