The Grant Information Systems (GIS) Associate is a key member of the Community Investing and Development (CID) Operations and Finance team, reporting to the VP, Systems and Reporting. The CID group works to enhance Citi’s positive social impact through strategic philanthropy, equity investing, and innovative financial solutions. The GIS Associate will play a key role in both maintaining and driving innovation in the information systems managed by CID Operations and Finance, primarily the Citi Foundation’s Fluxx grants management system.

Key Responsibilities:

Information and System Management

  • Administer and configure the Citi Foundation’s grants management system (Fluxx), including the design, creation, and maintenance of forms and workflows, external portal and internal dashboards, and process documentation
  • Assist in maintaining and upgrading the CID charitable contribution and community development service management system (SmartSimple)
  • Ensure excellent user experience, including by providing high-quality customer service, responsive technical support, and timely problem resolution
  • Manage service tickets and serve as vendor point of contact
  • Support adherence to company-wide technology and information security standards and practices by coordinating penetration tests, third party management activities, and entitlement reviews
  • Help to drive ongoing technology improvements; explore, test, and implement new system functionalities; and proactively identify opportunities to streamline and simplify technology-enabled processes
  • Ensure integrity and quality of grant, contribution, and service data, and coordinate responsiveness to internal and external reporting requirements
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests and run regular efficiency metrics

Grant, Contribution, and Service Administration:

  • Perform due diligence and completeness review of grant, contribution, and service records, and liaise as necessary with relationship managers and nonprofits
  • Prepare approved records for Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) verification
  • Assist in coordination of grants payment process


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in information science, technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Administrator experience with Fluxx grants management software (including HTML, Liquid, and/or Ruby)
  • Exceptional technical and analytical knowledge, including database structure management and knowledge of SQL, workflows, and reporting
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytic capabilities; skilled at analysing, interpreting, and using data to collaborate, identify best practices and areas for improvement, and drive results
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Tableau
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Must be a team player and have a keen ability to prioritize
  • Entrepreneurial, solution-oriented mindset, detail-oriented, and well organized
