Reporting to the Senior Content Strategist and Producer, the Content Intern will participate in a part-time, 10-week program supporting the communications department by providing a wide range of administrative, organizational, and research support. This is an opportunity to expand your communications and digital marketing skills by immersing yourself in the content development process—from idea to execution to measurement and analysis—with a fun and energetic team that is committed to the values reflected in our mission statement. Pending assessment after the 10-week period, there may be an opportunity to extend the term.
Responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Work independently and with the team to support the development and execution of digital campaigns and other ongoing projects, including sourcing and organizing digital assets, writing and proofreading copy, and helping generate story ideas in accordance with an editorial calendar
- Assist with sourcing, drafting, and editing a variety of content including blogs, newsletters, research memos, and email
- Using social media analytics and other tools, conduct analyses that help identify new potential audiences and points of contact for events and ongoing campaigns
- Compile data and conduct research concerning arts and humanities
- Support digital media strategizing, including list development and image research
- Help design and maintain an organized system of tracking, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks, including the optimization of Box.com and Monday.com, the Foundation’s primary project management tools
- Handle confidential and non-routine information with sensitivity
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong interest in learning about communications and marketing in a nonprofit setting
- Significant experience with digital and social media, including a solid understanding of content trends and features across platforms
- Some nonprofit experience preferred, with demonstrated ability to anticipate next steps take initiative, exercise discretion, and apply sound judgment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an interest in honing an ability to think about content from both a strategic and creative perspective
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Mailchimp, Sprout Social, and/or Google Analytics a plus
- Must be flexible, highly organized and have a proven ability to juggle multiple and competing tasks and demands with impeccable follow-up and attention to detail
- High level of interpersonal skills and discretion to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Ability to be highly productive working independently and as a member of a team
- Completion of senior year by May 2022 or working towards a Master’s degree
